Ms. E. Mangezi

Ms E. Mangezi is a registered Legal Practitioner, Conveyancer and Notary Public in terms of the Legal Practitioners Act (Chapter 27:07) with over 10 years’ experience of practising law as legal counsel to Government.  She joined the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs as a Law Officer in the Legal Aid Directorate in March 2009. The Legal Aid Directorate is established in terms of section 3 of the Legal Aid Act (Chapter 7:16) with the objective of providing legal aid to indigent persons in connection with any criminal, civil or other related matters. She later transferred to the Legal Advice Division of the Attorney General’s Office where she rose through the ranks to become a Chief Law Officer (State Counsel II) in 2017. The Office of the Attorney General is established in terms of section 114 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe and its functions include, inter alia, acting as the principal legal advisor to the Government. In the Attorney General’s Office, Ms Mangezi was the chair of the Public Agreements Advisory Committee which made her to acquire experience in the negotiation and drafting of contracts (domestic, regional & international) and considerable knowledge in legal research and techniques.  She was promoted to become a Legal Advisor in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in February 2021.  She is a holder of Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree from the University of Zimbabwe as well as numerous short and in-service courses acquired over the years.
