National Library and Documentation Service (NLDS)

NLDS was established through an Act of Parliament in 1985. Chapter 25:10

Functions of NLDS

i. To promote the establishment of libraries in Zimbabwe

i. To ensure, maintain and develop a high standard of library services in Zimbabwe

ii. To train librarians with basic skills of librarianship

iii. To operate a documentation facility (A National Library)

iv. Registration of affiliate and constitute libraries in Zimbabwe.
